The mission of KU Aviation Services is to provide professional and efficient air travel to meet University of Kansas business travel needs while exceeding industry customer service standards and conducting operations to the highest safety standards practical.

When conducting official University business, non-commercial aircraft may be used to support  activities such as health care outreach programs including clinics and continuing education, research and academic projects, public relations and fundraising, acquisition and administration of grants, and student recruitment. 

The University owns a light business jet and has a fractional ownership of a small business jet that are used for non-commercial air travel. The University also uses state-owned aircraft for business travel. All aircraft shall be used in accordance with the policy outlined on the Policy Library webpage. Use of aircraft made available by donors for official University business shall be subject to requirements listed in this policy.

Aviation Services schedules all official University travel on general aviation aircraft. Persons interested should contact the Scheduling Officer, Lori Montgomery, at (785) 864-4694 or lmontgomery@ku.edu, to check availability for desired flight dates.  A completed Flight Request Form must be submitted to the Scheduling Officer to confirm the flight.
